“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

Amazing and humbling to think that God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, desires human beings, created from the dust of the Earth, to participate in His Acts of Righteousness and Holiness.  It is easy to sit back and say to ourselves, “Why would God use me? What do I have to offer God?” The world is a big place populated with nearly 8 billion (8,000,000,000) people, but do not let the vastness of the Earth and our surroundings discourage you.  To the world you are a number, but to God you are a special name and are of great value to Him.

You are the only one in this world with your exact genetic make-up, heritage, fingerprints, and giftings.  You are the only one that has truly lived your life’s story with your own unique sets of ups, downs, twists, and turns to go along with your own collection of successes and failures. Most importantly, you are the only with your testimony of what Jesus Christ has done specifically for you and through you.  Before you ever entered your mother’s womb, God knew you, wired you, and carefully molded you to stand in the gap with Him and build up a wall of spiritual protection in a land that remains spiritually vulnerable.

“One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.”

Joshua 23:10

God needs you specifically in the world, in your home, in your family, in your workplace, and in your church to make an impact in the lives of others.  Out of 8 billion (8,000,000,000) people, God can use just one (1) desiring heart willing to lay it all on the line for God to make an eternal impact on the other 7,999,999,999 people in this world!!

When we read and look at the life of Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, Elisha, John the Baptist, and most importantly Jesus Christ, we can clearly see that with God one can make a difference.  One can steer an entire nation back into the Righteousness of God while “The One” atoned for the sin of the entire world on the Cross and brought a lost people into Fellowship with God.  One may seem small, but with the Power of God fighting for us and moving with us, mountains can be moved and waters can be parted if we are just willing to stand in the gap with God at all costs!!
