“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
Deuteronomy 29:29
When will God __________?
Many questions could be placed in this blank. When will God Rapture the Church? When will God do this in my life? The questions are endless and that is totally okay as the Wisdom of God is without end. After all, if we did not have these types of questions, we would essentially be God and have the answers to everything. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We need God and His Answers for His Will in our lives. We know nothing about life without His Wisdom and cannot do anything for the Kingdom of God without His Guidance. We are not entitled to the answers from God about His Secrets, but His Mercy and Grace provide us with the answers to our many questions we have in life through His Love for us. There is nothing wrong with asking God when the fulfillment of certain events will happen in our lives, but the same answer applies to both circumstantial questions:
“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”
Mark 13:33
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:8-9
“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving”
Colossians 4:2
Everything God does will be done in its appointed time, for the good of our own lives, and the well-being of humanity. This does not mean we need to be lazy and say what is done is done. Watching for the Day of the Lord in our own lives and in the soon return of our Lord is a command from Jesus Christ Himself. We need not to worry about when this or that will take place. We just need to keep asking God and seeking the Will of God through prayer and watch for the fulfillment of our answered prayers. Short term and long term, the Will of God will come to pass as a thief in the night. It is our duty as a follower of Jesus Christ to not be caught sleeping when the Will of God comes to pass. We must be ready with eyes open to see, ears ready to hear, and our hearts ready to receive.
