Rejoice and Be Glad

August 5, 2022
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24

The span of a 24-hour day can bring many challenges.  One minute we can be on top of the world, but in a moment, life can bring us down to the bottom of the barrel.  Sometimes we have those days when we struggle to find something to rejoice about.  It’s hard to want to rejoice and be glad when life is knocking us around like a rag doll.  Naturally we want to thank God for the good days but forget the Lord during the bad days.  As much as we want to forget God in the bad times, Jesus Christ has not forgotten about us.  When life is beating us down, Jesus is here to lift us up on higher ground.

As Christians going through the tough times, we have the comfort of knowing Jesus Christ is with us and will ultimately bring us through any given rough patch.  Even on our worst day when nothing seems to be going right, we can always hold on to the fact that Jesus still has the victory over where we are and where we are going.  Our worst day with the Lord by our side is far greater than our very best day without His Presence over our lives and His Love to comfort our hearts. Keeping our hands lifted high towards the Lord during the storm is where we find Him on the other side waiting to give us our breakthrough as the skies clear.

Let us live today and every day after with Jesus Christ in mind, praise in our hearts, and power in our footsteps.  We are given a new day to experience Jesus with a greater anticipation of what the Lord has in store for us.  At any given moment, we could feel the Touch of the Lord, hear the Voice of the Lord, and witness a move of God in a very close, personal, but powerful way.  Every day the Lord gives us is a blessing and a gift.  We should be thankful each day for God giving us breath in our lungs and a beating heart in our chest.  Knowing we live each day for Jesus Christ as He walks right alongside us gives us every reason to rejoice and be glad.
