“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body…”
Philippians 3:20–21
The beauty of being a Child of God is not only that which we currently have in this life, but that which is waiting for us at the end of life’s journey. The struggles and joys we encounter along the way prepare our spirits for what awaits us on the beautiful shores of Heaven. Separation will be no more. When we part with the worst parts of ourselves that is our broken down, worn out, fleshy, human bodies from the long journey of life, we will be met with the Glorious One with a glorious gift. Our best self, who is a redeemed and cleansed spirit by the Blood of Christ, goes upward to be united with our Jesus. He awaits each of us to receive a glorified body that reflects the Glory of Christ, and the beautiful creature He has made us to be.
All that we encounter on this side of Heaven makes us long for the journey to the sweet by and by. It is there we will meet The One who bought us with His Love and Sacrifice. We will be forever united with Jesus Christ, along with our many loved ones who helped us get there along the way. Though we long for the days of our final deliverance into the Portals of Heaven, it is our duty from this moment forward to Jesus and our loved ones that have passed on before us to continue our race. We still have our life and our time here on Earth to make our own impact for the Kingdom of God. The Lord still has us here for a mighty purpose. In no way, shape, or form is the Lord finished with us yet.
From the very breath we breathe in this moment to our very last breath on Earth, let us live this life for the Lord. Let every moment of every day be filled with great hope and anticipation of what is awaiting us over yonder. It is not that we ourselves or others waive “good-bye,” but our hand is turned the opposite direction with an invitation as to say, “Come and see the very best of who I am in the Lord and all that the Lord Jesus Christ has done for me. If He will do it for me, He will do it for you.” No more shall we experience the ups and downs of this life. The tears we shed will be wiped away, and there shall be rest and peace forever more on that happy golden shore.
Jesus Christ is shaping our glorious selves into His Likeness as we speak. It is up to us to patiently endure until the Lord calls us up hither to be united with a glorious body that is a reflection of the Glorious One. For in that body we will never grow old and our new body shall never wear out. In that day, we shall look upon the face of the One who saved us by His Grace. We will fall at His feet to worship and give Him our deepest thanks and gratitude for He is the One who made it all possible.
Keep going!! For there is a glorious day coming when the Lord Jesus Christ will take us by the hand and lead us to the Promised Land. Oh what a day, glorious day, that will be!
