“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11
There is something about the name of Jesus Christ and the powerful anointing attached to it. The name “Jesus” means Savior, and “Christ” means The Anointed, or The Messiah. The divinity in His Name alone deserves our continual worship and adoration. Jesus is our Master, Savior, and coming King whose name God has highly exalted above every name in Heaven and Earth.
Jesus Christ is that name that shakes the foundations of Heaven and Earth, welcomes the stillness of peace into our minds, and the greatness of His Love into our hearts. The name of Jesus makes the cold and darkness of winter pass and the pounding rains from the storms of life over and gone. His Name shines the brightness of spring into our hearts bringing an end to our troubled winter. His Name is the dew in the garden of our hearts that sprouts forth the roses of beauty and splendor with an elegant fragrance that draws us near unto Him. The serenity of His Name welcomes the singing birds that continually sing praises to His Name for our comfort and delight. The name of Jesus flows waters of life from a fountain that never runs dry to flood our souls with the fullness of His Joy and the promise of Everlasting Life.
The soon coming of King Jesus will bring Heaven down to Earth. The Lord will set His Throne in the New Jerusalem where we will dwell with Him for eternity. In that day, gone will be all the pain, sorrow, and troubles of this current life. The former things will pass away, and all things shall be made new. Every knee will bow and every tongue, nation, and being in Heaven and Earth will confess Jesus Christ, in all His Glory, as King of kings and Lord of lords. The name of Jesus Christ as the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and everything in between, will stand firm and hold true through the ages for all of eternity.
Jesus… Jesus… Jesus… there is just something about that name that naturally flows from our lips. Whether we whisper “Jesus” in the quietest of nights, or shout “Jesus” from the afternoon rooftop, just the mere mention of His Name breathes the very breath of God into our souls.
There’s Something About That Name
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there’s something about that name.
