The Where

June 17, 2022
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

Deuteronomy 29:29

The heart that feels the void that only God can fill, will always ask, “Where can I meet Him?” or “Where can I know Him?”  The question of where has numerous applications, but the greatest location where the Secret of God was revealed was located at the Cross of Calvary.  Upon that hill, God revealed His Character to us through the greatest act of love, sacrifice, obedience, and selflessness that can never be matched.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

There at the Cross, Jesus Christ took our sin upon Himself and offered it up to God. When we confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the results of what Jesus did for us at Calvary takes place in our hearts. God, through the giving of His Son, only desired one location.  God wanted to dwell among His Chosen People and now He dwells within each of our hearts upon our confession of His Only Begotten Son.  It started at Calvary so the Spirit of Jesus Christ could come into our hearts and could always be where we are at any given moment.  The Presence of the Holy Spirit wraps us in God’s Love and Grace reminding us that we are never forgotten by our Father in Heaven.

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”

Matthew 6:10

Jesus Christ will soon come again to setup His Throne in the New Jerusalem after He calls all of us home in the Glory of the Rapture that is not too far away.  Our final where will be with Him in the Glory of His Throne.  Our where at this moment is Jesus Christ occupying the throne of our hearts.  Emmanuel is here with us. He is everywhere and yet has already been where we are and where we are going.  We will find Jesus in front of us to lead us out of the lowest valleys, up the highest mountains, through every rough terrain, and everything in between during this life.  Jesus is beside us in a Heavenly Fellowship that is always ready and willing to listen and offer His Guidance with every question or burden we may have.  We will even find Jesus behind us to remind us that if we are tempted to turn back, He will redirect our focus to keep pressing forward on the Path of Promise ahead.  And if we look upwards, we know that He is always watching us with a careful eye from the Throne of the Father.  What about down?  If we look at our feet, we can be reminded that Jesus is our firm foundation that keeps us planted in His Unshakeable Salvation that will never cause us to fall.

Without fear, or hesitation, we must bring our heart and whole life to Jesus who loves us very much.  The closer we draw to Him, the closer we can abide in His Will and experience more of what He has to offer us.  Let us become willing to take up the Cross and follow Jesus wherever He takes us in this life.  He can take us further than we can possibly imagine.
