“Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”
Psalm 139:10
The Precious Hand of the Lord is continually upon us night and day to keep us in close fellowship with Him. Though the Lord leads us through this life’s journey by the strength of His Right Hand, we must remember the gentle care and tender love provided by His Left Hand. He will stop us along the way to embrace us and draw us close to His Side near His Heart. The Great Shepherd reminds us of His Devoted Love towards us when our hearts and bodies grow weary.
As our strength fades, and our bodies become weak and worn, the Lord promises us that His Grace will uphold us and is all sufficient. It is when we become weak, He is made strong. When we fall, He will heal our wounds, pick us up to stand, and allow us to continue the journey. When we cry out for Him, He will hear our call and there He will be. A moment will never go by when we are not surrounded by the Love of God and His Hand removed from us. We may get still and quiet, but the Lord never stops moving and speaking to our hearts. God never removes, but leads us through.
We have great truths and precious promises from the heart of God that the Lord lingers near and will never allow us to walk alone. In those moments, when our worst nightmares come to reality, we know the Lord our God walks close to our side. Jesus Christ holds our hand at every moment for safety and security. His Hand is “The Be Not Afraid” in our most fearful of days. Through the raging seas of life, and the pounding storms that shake our souls, we know the Precious Hand of the Lord holds us up firmly not to sink and be overtaken. His Hand is the “Peace, Be Still” that brings the calm to the greatest of storms in the midst of the sea. When the darkness appears, and the night draws near, we know the Right Hand of God will direct our path and guide our feet to lead us through. The Hand of the Lord is the “Light of the World” that scatters the darkness.
There is an old saying that “the night precedes the day.” Though we are weary pilgrims in the night of our wilderness journey, the Spirit of God is still the cloud by day and the fire by night that leads us by the hand into The Promised Land. The Lord is leading us to a place where the sun forever shines, and the roses never fade. Jesus Christ guides us by the rivers of His Salvation bringing an end to our long night’s journey into the Greater Land of Heaven.
The night is almost over, the storm is slowly passing, and the morning light of home is on the horizon. Take us by the hand Precious Lord, lead us home.
“Precious Lord, Take My Hand”
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
