Holiness Presented, Personified, and Perfected

“Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.”

Leviticus 19:2

Holiness means we are separated, unique, distinct, and beautiful children of God. The Lord wishes to fill His Holy Church with holy people. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit work together to lead us into a life of holiness.

Holiness Presented

Holiness begins with the Cross. In fact, we can know nothing of holiness without the Blood of Christ and God’s Chosen Altar. The Cross is God’s indication that the Lord wants His People to be holy as He is holy. Sin and holiness cannot abide together; it is an unequal yoke. The Cross puts away the sin of the sinner allowing us to be reborn in the Righteousness and True Holiness of God (Ephesians 4:24).

Holiness Personified

Jesus Christ is holiness personified. He is the way, the truth, and the life of God’s Holiness. The Holy Spirit is what gives us access to the Holiness found in the Person of Christ. It is by the Power of the Spirit that allows Jesus to live His Perfect, Holy Life through us.

Holiness Perfected

The old song says, “I got Jesus on the inside, He’s moving on the outside, bringing about change in my life.”To see the outward change of what the Holy Spirit is doing on the inside is when the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) begins to blossom in our daily living. Bearing fruit is about growing and maturing in the Spirit making us more like Jesus. Notice the scripture does not say “Fruits” but “Fruit.” We do not get to pick and choose what the best fruit is for us at a given moment based on circumstance. Holiness is allowing all eight marks of the Fruit of the Spirit to become our standard of true holy living.

God has given us all we need to live a holy life. Holiness is being led by the Spirit, bearing the Fruit of the Spirit, as a result of our Faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ. Let the Word of God teach us how to live a holy life and let the Holy Spirit direct us into the Holiness of God to make us more like Jesus.
