Grace That Sets Us Free

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Galatians 5:1

The Amazing Grace of God can be defined as the goodness of a Perfect, Holy God freely given based on the principle of Faith to undeserving, guilty man.  It is by the Grace of God we receive Mercy and Pardon for our sins through the display of God’s Grace in Jesus Christ at the Cross of Calvary.  Through our continual Faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us at the Cross, we receive the help of the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of God helps us to live a life of freedom in the Saving Grace of God that Jesus imparted unto us upon our confession of Him as Lord and Savior.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Before coming to the knowledge of Salvation and God’s Saving Grace through Jesus Christ, we were held captive by the power of sin and its penalty.  We lived our lives according to our own way, by the means of our own flesh, that is naturally opposed to the Ways of God.  Sin having dominion over our hearts and lives, caused us to be imprisoned by the powers of darkness and chain down by the lusts and evil desires of this world.  God cannot accept sin in any way, shape, or form.  In the Eyes and Mind of God, sin must be judged and put away for one to inherit the Glory and Kingdom of God.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Freedom does not come freely.  Eternal Life and Freedom in God comes with a price.  God must judge sin either through the sinner, or through the Person of Jesus Christ whose Blood atones for our sins past, present, and future.  It is the Grace of God that puts to death the sin and not the sinner through the life of Christ.  As God settled sin through the Sinless Life of Christ, given as a ransom for us all, God frees the captive sinner upon confession of Jesus Christ and washes away the sinner’s guilt.  His Blood paid the price for our freedom.  God condemned sin in the flesh of His Beloved Son so we could come alive in the Spirit of Christ to walk freely in Newness of Life.

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)

It is the Grace of God that heals our broken, bruised hearts caused by the tight grip of sin.  The Grace of God, fueled by His Love, releases the grip of sin to cover and embrace the Born-Again Believer’s heart with the Comfort, Faith, Hope, and Love of Jesus Christ that surpasses all understanding. It is through the Blood of Jesus, the prison doors of our hearts and minds are opened to the Kingdom of God.  Jesus Christ set us free from the captivity of our flesh and the evil desires of this world.  God’s Grace, through Faith, allows us to walk freely in the Righteousness of Christ that leads us into the Life, Liberty, and Freedom of God’s Eternal Promises.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:34)

Jesus Christ is the open door of Tender Mercies, Unending Love, and Amazing Grace that sets us free from the of chains of sin and the prison door of death.  His faithfulness and compassion towards us will keep us freely in His Grace from this day, to the darkening of the sun, and the dissolving of this Earth.  The ages may pass from one condition to another, but God’s Amazing Grace will endure and remain for Eternity.  We will forever belong to God. God’s Grace will forever belong to us.
