Beggar to Blessed

August 20, 2021
“And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”

Luke 18:38-43

Jesus Christ stands firm in our midst to uplift us from desperate to hopeful.  He always leaves a place, or a person, better than how He found it.  Our determination for more of Jesus is rewarded with commanding blessings to fulfill our every need.  Faith in Christ, and believing He will answer our desperate plea, helps us put our faith into action and take hold of all that Christ has available for us.  A single touch from the Lord brings us from lost, blind, and begging to saved, healed, and blessed.  His Restorative Touch makes us fit for the use of God with clear sight, with a clear heart, and with a clear purpose.  When we receive a touch from the Lord, we should want to be in His midst and desire more of what Jesus has to offer us.

When we are desperate, Jesus stands...

When we are determined, Jesus commands...

When we desire, Jesus welcomes...

When we believe, Jesus asks...

When we ask, Jesus gives…

When we receive, Jesus saves…

When we are saved, Jesus says follow…

When we follow, we praise Jesus!

Whether it be salvation, healing, or direction in life, our desire for Jesus welcomes in the love and compassion our hearts desperately crave.  Let our prayers give us a greater desire for more of His Presence, His Touch, and the life it brings to our desiring hearts.  If we present ourselves to Christ as a blind and hungry beggar, Jesus will fill our hearts with more than we could ever deserve.
