A Better View

January 15, 2021
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

1 Corinthians 2:14

The views of life and godliness have been corrupted by worldly, broken wisdom. There is so much wickedness going on in the world that many people want to blame God for its downfall. Sin is being accepted, the Word of God has been deemed an outdated book of old truths, and popularity has taken the place of purity. This has caused more problems in our society than ever before. The world lacks in spiritual understanding and really has no moral understanding at all.  It is a sad vision of reality for the world around us.  However, God’s vision and God’s reality for His People have not changed one bit.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

John 4:23

To the Spiritual mind, one may say the line has been drawn between those of the world and those that truly belong to the Lord. While the vision of God to the world may be getting distorted, the view of God to His People is growing greater. Only the Born-again, Spirit-filled Christian can clearly see the view of God.

We can see with our eyes and hear with our ears in the natural, but the Holy Spirit’s job is to help us see and hear the Lord clearly through the supernatural eyes of faith. The Holy Spirit desires to lift us up out of the lower levels of a blind faith and into the upper crests of faith where we can clearly see and know Jesus Christ on a more intimate level.  The closer the Holy Spirit can draw us to Jesus, the clearer the vision of God becomes.  As our perception of God becomes clearer, the vision of the world begins to dim.  The more connected we are in the Spirit, the more our eyes can see, minds can understand, and our walk narrows towards the view of God.

The distortions of the world should never blur the vision of the people of God. Our eyes, hearts, and minds are daily transfigured through the Holy Spirit. Our wisdom is closed off from the world between the covers of God’s Word. Our eyes are enlightened to the Presence of God all around us. We cannot change the world, but we can change the hearts of those in the world. We cannot change the views of the world, but we can lead them to a better view of God. It is up to us to “go and tell” the world around us about Jesus Christ and help heal the eyes of the blind by proclaiming the Truth of the Gospel. Help lead others up the mount of faith so their view of God may become as clear as ours.
